10 Simple Tips To Get Relief From Stress

As mentioned in the previous post, there are a lot of negative effects of stress. It will make you look old with that unsightly skin appearance. However, there are many ways to tame stress. There are even institutions that offer stress management courses to help a person copes with it. Though stress is a natural response of the body to a stimulus, there are a few ways to keep stress in a good level.

  1. Listen to Music. Did you know that music can alleviate chronic disease? It can also tone down your stress. You can play calm music because it can give positive effects on your body and brain. It also lowers blood pressure and reduces the level of cortisol.

  2. Take a deep breath. You do it every day but it is a different thing when you want to avoid stress. It is used by Buddhist monks when they meditate. Take a sit for about 3-5 minutes, breathe in and out slowly and deeply because it will oxygenate your blood, help center your body and clear your mind.

  3. Laughter is still the best medicine. If you are in deep stress, laugh out loud. Good mood will release hormone endorphin that will decrease the levels of cortisol in your body. Did you known about the laugh yoga? Try it and you will feel better.

  4. Hydrate yourself with Water and Tea. It is considered the best therapy because it calms the mind and reduces tension. Water maintains a good level of hydration that allows you think and make better decisions. Tea contains an amino acid called theanine that has a calming and soothing effect on the nervous system.

  5. Exercise. Get rid of stress through your sweat. A simple walk or a little jog in the park will move your blood. It will help in releasing endorphins in your body.

  6. Get enough sleep. You need to sleep for 6-8 hours. When your body is deep sleep, your human growth hormone or HGH will function better. It will repair your damaged tissues to ensure a better and lighter feeling in the morning. If you can't sleep, pay a visit to your doctor and get some advice how to sleep well at night.

  7. Call a friend. When you share some of your woes with your friend, you will feel less stressed. Good relationship with someone is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. A reassuring voice can make your perspective positive.

  8. Divert your attention. Instead of thinking about the things that stressed you out, divert your attention to something more useful. Do the things you've never done before or your hobbies. You can also spend your time hiking or nature trekking. Nature will always have this soothing effect on your body.

  9. Eat right. One of the results of stress is unconscious eating. This should be the other way around. If you feel low, it's time to cook something healthy. Enjoy fruits and vegetables rather than eating some junk foods that bring nothing but fats and cholesterol.

  10. Pamper yourself. You can lessen stress by pampering yourself such as going to shopping, having a massage, meditation or yoga. It will channel optimism and enlightenment. It will also make you have a sound sleep.
Stress does no good to your body. It will just damage your tissues and make you ugly. You need to convert stress in a positive way.
